Intravenous Therapy

The intravenous route is much more direct…

Welcome to IV Therapy At Insight

*Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, each patient will be isolated in their own room during their IV treatment.

At Insight Naturopathic, we are proud of our experienced team of IV certified naturopathic doctors

Why would I consider IV therapy if I can take nutrients orally?

You can certainly obtain nutrients via the oral route (by mouth). However, the intravenous route is much more direct. Therapeutic doses of vitamins, minerals and amino acids may be administered directly into the bloodstream without relying on your digestive system’s absorption capability.

Who can benefit from IV therapy?

There are many indications for IV therapy including the following:

• General health and immune support
• Chronic stress
• Conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease that may lead to malabsorption
• Chronic pain or fatigue
• Exercise recovery and hydration
• Support for patients who have undergone treatment for cancer or another chronic disease.

What can I expect the day of my IV treatment?

You will first review a consent to treatment form. You will then be shown to our IV suite where you can relax in a recliner and watch some TV, or catch up on some reading or some work. Your vital signs will be monitored before, during and after the IV treatment.

What should I bring?

We ask that you bring a bottle of water or tea, a snack, smoothie or juice with you to your treatment.

How Do I Book an IV?

First, you will need to schedule an appointment to see one of our naturopathic doctors. We recommend that you book an initial consultation so that we can gain an understanding of your health goals. Your heath assessment will include a physical examination.

2) Basic bloodwork is required within a month of starting IV therapy.

The basic blood tests required are:

CBC (Complete Blood Count)
Creatinine (Kidney Function)
G6PD screen (If you have been prescribed greater than 10 grams of Vitamin C)

**If you have recent bloodwork from your family physician or another referring physician within 1 month of beginning IV therapy, please forward this to the clinic prior to scheduling your first infusion.

3) The appropriate infusion is chosen for you and will be tailored to meet your specific needs.
